I didn’t wake up at all during the night and slept through the whole night. Usually, with strange places, I don’t sleep that well for the first night. But with the sea breeze, lapping sea waves and comfortable queen sized bed are a potent combination. So much that I don’t really want to wake up but I just want to catch the beautiful sunrise. Breakfast, the very next day was delicious with a range of choice from scrambled eggs or pancakes or Roti Cenai (a traditional Indian pastry) with curry. Pick the Roti Cenai, it is really good.

After breakfast, I went for snorkelling for a couple of hours and get my appetite ready for my lunch. My next meal consists of a range of set local meals that you can choose from like Fried Rice and Noodles.

The rest of the day, I went hiking to the next resort through the jungle. There are built manmade walkways that are easy to follow. You can actually trek to the village and the Asah Waterfall but it takes around 2 hours to reach the village and another 45 minutes to reach the waterfall. I didn’t really make it until the end because I didn’t want to tire myself out.

Along the trek, I actually came across a pretty secluded hidden beach and spent some time just looking out to the sea and truly enjoying some alone time to myself.

The rest of my stay was simply wonderful. I get to finish a book that I have bought for ages but didn’t have the time to read. I had my complete rest, napping when I want to. There are absolutely no distractions from my thoughts. No Facebook notifications, no email pinging me and no urge to pick up my phone at all except to take beautiful serene photos of the view.

At the end of my stay, I wanted so much to extend for another one week because I have rested so well and the staff there have all treated me super great. All of them even the chef actually waved the guests off the jetty when we leave to go to Genting Jetty to catch the ferry back to the mainland.

As much as this place is not some 5-star hotels with top-notch facilities and you will find bugs in your room, this place truly live up to its reputation of bringing you back to the basics. And that is what a break should be, refreshed, restored and rejuvenated your senses and well being so that you can be ready for your next challenge in life!
